Idioms & Phrases
Plain unadorned facts, without concealment or embellishment. For example, What I've told you is the naked truth. This expression supposedly alludes to a fable in which Truth and Falsehood went bathing, Falsehood then dressed in Truth's clothes, and Truth, refusing to take another's clothes, went naked. [Late 1500s]
The truth is oily:-
Truth is the facts. Once established, it will be there forever - like oil being spread, it's hard to clean and cover up. Through time, truth will surfaced and back to haunt those conspired.
The truth is painful:-

Lim also criticized those who have attacked Tengku Razaleigh.
“Those who are baying for Razaleigh’s blood, like Umno Supreme Council member Dr. Mohd Puad Zarkashi demanding for action to be taken against the Gua Musang Member of Parliament for speaking out on the Kelantan oil royalty issue, have personal political axes to grind.
"Development funds for the states are strictly controlled by Putrajaya, and the PAS government which has ruled Kelantan for more than 20 years claims BN is stifling its economy to squeeze the Islamist party out of the state."
